B.Com (Bachelors of commerce)
This course aims at:
• Preparing students with a strong
foundation in Commerce, which is a great asset in qualifying for any
specialized postgraduate course.
• Providing adequate basic understanding about Financial Accounting and
Auditing & Marketing concepts to the students and giving them adequate
exposure to the operational environment.
• Creating an understanding of Business Economics and issues related to the
Indian Economy.

work environment now demands broadened mindsets and qualifications for diverse

near future. Furthermore, traditional degrees become outdated and even
irrelevant in the modern workforce. It is essential that employees continue to

Bachelor of Commerce degrees which encompass a shift from general education to

BBI (Bachelors of Banking &
Insurance)
Introduction and Objectives
- To create for the students
of the University of Mumbai an additional avenue of self employment and
also to benefit Industry by providing them with suitably trained persons
in the field of Banking & Insurance.
- To prepare students to
exploit opportunities being newly created in the Banking & Insurance
field.
- To provide adequate basic
understanding about Banking & Insurance education to the students.
- To give adequate exposure to
the operational environment in the field of Banking & Insurance.
- To inculcate training &
practical approach by using modern technology amongst the students in the
field of Banking & Insurance.
BAF (Bachelors of Accounting
& Finance)
Introduction and Objectives
Ø To create for the students of the
University of Mumbai an additional avenue of self employment and also to
benefit Industry by providing them with suitably trained persons in the field
of Accounting & Finance
Ø To prepare students to exploit
opportunities being newly created in the accounting & finance field.
Ø To provide adequate basic
understanding about Accounting & Finance education to the students.

of Accounting & Finance.
The University of Mumbai started the Bachelor of Commerce (accounting
& Finance) course in 2003-04. The course not only aims at training students
to gain knowledge in the fields related to Accounting & Finance but also
leads to the all-round development of their personality.
The BAF course provides comprehensive training to students in the field
of Accounting & Finance by way of interaction, projects, presentations,
industrial visits, practical training, job orientation and placements. It is a
perfectly designed full time course for aspiring Chartered Accountants & Financial
Analysts.
Chartered Accountants / Financial Analysts are known to excel at
analysing and understanding the financial structure of a company. They are
expected to take the appropriate decision at the right time and ensure that the
same are implemented properly. Such are the people required in today’s globally
competitive market.

ideal Financial analyst / Chartered Accountant who knows how to make proper

The University of Mumbai started the Bachelor of Management Studies course in
1999. The course aims at not only training students to become excellent
managers but also leads to the all-round development of their personality.
The BMS course provides comprehensive management training to students by

aspiring managers and budding CEOs of tomorrow.

Media has perhaps played the most powerful role in history, politics,
economics & society. It is not limited being a tool of communication
anymore. In our present day world, media- broadcast and print media in
particular, are considered mainly to be entities that reflect the face of the
society as it exists today. Since it has a vital role to play its our
fundamental responsibility as academicians to equip students with its various
forms like print, radio, television, cinema, internet etc. It is with the same
understanding that university of Mumbai introduced Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM)
in 2000- 2001. The course promotes the freedom of thought & expression. We
at HR, aspire to promote originality, creativity, commitment, dedication &
passion in our media students. The HR BMM student will be educated in an
in-depth study of media & its powers & responsibility & thus
encouraged to excel. So that students would understand the process of making
every voice heard, every image seen & every opinion counted. We intend to
conceive it by developing fundamental human skills of oral presentation, lucid
writing skills, critical thinking, motivation & supporting social structure.

BFM (Bachelors of Financial Market)
The three year B.F.M. Degree
course aims at :
- Creating
an additional avenue of self-employment and also to benefit the industry
by providing them with suitable trained persons in the field of Accounting
& Finance and Banking & Insurance.
- Providing
adequate basic understanding about Banking, Insurance & other
financial services to the students and to give an adequate exposure to
operational environment in the field of Banking, Insurance & other
related financial services of Accounting and Finance.
- Inculcating
training, and practical approach, by organizing industrial visits, summer
placements and using modem technology in teaching the students in the
field of Accounting & Finance and Banking & Insurance.
BLS (Bachelors of Law Studies)
B.L.S., LL.B.
The
Five Year Integrated Law Course, leading to a B.L.S., LL.B. degree is a
ten-semester full time course. The first and the second year of this course
include the first four semesters. Together, they constitute a 'Pre-Law' course.
Students pursuing this course are entitled to B.L.S. (Bachelor of Legal
Science) degree on successful completion of the third year (6th semester), and
on the completion of five years (10th semester), they are awarded the LL.B.
degree.
Examinations are held by the University of Mumbai at the end of each semester.
Students are also evaluated through their performance in the Practical Training
Subjects, as per guidelines issued by the Bar Council of India.
